Since Bridge21 is a launching pad for new educational ideas, we are delighted to announce the launch of our new website, brand and name.
It has been an exciting few months at Bridge21, as we worked with designers and a web team to whittle concepts and colours into what you can see now.
We love it, and we hope you do too.
‘Bridge2College’ has just graduated. All grown up, it will now be known as ‘Bridge21’ .
We wanted to keep ‘Bridge’ in our name. It has lots of significance for us, as we help to bridge educational divides, gaps in learning, and build a bridge to a better education system for Ireland, one equipped to meet the needs of the 21st century. Which is why ‘21’ comes into it.
Like most 21 years olds, we too think it is time to leave the nest. So we are packing our model, and bringing it to schools.
So, it’s not just a new name to us, but a new adventure.
Around here, we are passionate about learning. And not just facts and figures, but in the way we learn. We think it is a powerful thing when young people learn how to learn. For us, that means developing problem solving stills, using creativity, and learning how to collaborate and work as a team- all essential skills for living and working in the 21st Century.
With this type of learning under their belts, we believe young people will, in turn, be able to power change- which will lead to a better economy and society down the line, for us all.
‘Wow’ was mentioned a few times where we saw what our design partners, PCC had to offer us when they presented their design concepts to us. We chose the one you see for its variety, adaptability, reference to a Bridge, and lego-like qualities. The design gives us building blocks to make new things- which is what learning is all about. We are looking forward to playing with it, in colourful, creative ways.
We wanted something fresh, colourful and engaging. We wanted a website which, in time, can expand and evolve. We wanted to make it interactive and inviting.
We think we have it…
On the new site you can find information about our programmes, upcoming events and news. We also invite you to dip in to view some videos or photos, or leave a comment or question on our blog.
There is a resource section too, for teachers and educators, and, as we are always on the hunt for inspiring links, we’ll now have space to share them.
We plan to keep things fresh around here. Our blog will incorporate work coming out of Oriel House, and we will also invite some guest posts from teachers, researchers and students
Along the way, we are always open to ideas, suggestions, comments or reflections.
As much as this site is for us, it is also for you…
So, first question, ‘What topics would you be interested in hearing more about? Over to you…
